We had our first official visitors last week from Kentucky!  Our friends, Blake and Sue, kept us busy with lots of fun, laughter, good food, and activities!

We watched the Arizona Diamondbacks on 4th of July, and enjoyed the fireworks after the game.

We took a couple of road trips - this is Roosevelt Lake - so pretty!

The center mountain in the picture below is called Four Peaks.  We were planning to drive around it but all the roads were closed due to the extremely dry conditions and chance of wildfires.

We thoroughly enjoyed a Cirque de Soleil show called Kooza!

And during one of our morning hikes, we saw five javelina raiding a garbage can!

And you can't live here without occasionally seeing a snake . . . .  or two . . . .

I'm also busy trying to raise money for my Avon Walk for Breast Cancer which takes place in September.  I have a Christmas in July giveaway going on right now.  You can find out more about it on my Laura Treks blog!  Thanks for checking it out.

Stay cool!

Looked like a lovely visit until the snake appeared! Now why is it that they don't sizzle on that hot AZ ground? :)

Hi Laura,

It looks like you had a nice weekend with your friends. It's a shame you couldn't drive around that lake but better to be safe.

Take care,
