Not So Speechless Sunday

Well, normally I would upload a picture but when I tried, Blogger gave me a message that I've used up my free picture quota space.

However, upon clicking to find out how to add more space, it says I'm only at 51% of the 1GB available on Picassa.  I don't plan to spend money to add photos here, so if I can't figure out what is going on, you'll have to catch me on Facebook!

Go figure!

Photographing Cats

It takes patience and time to get to the end result. Let's just say a lot of clowning around took place with Newman being the most challenging!

Dogs are so much easier when it comes to Halloween costumes!

Trekkin' in Santa Barbara

I've been away from the blog for awhile because of travel - first back to Kentucky to attend a wedding, and then last weekend in California for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

The Trekkin' for Ta-Tas team invaded Santa Barbara for our 2-day, 39.3 mile walk to support breast cancer.

We started out bright and early on Saturday and walked 26 miles!  Lots of local people come out to cheer, including cute dogs and even a cat or two!

There are pit stops along the way, but the people at cheering stations give out candy, wet bandanas, and lemons covered in sugar!

Sunday was a beautiful day with ocean views and 13 more miles to walk.

I made it the entire 39.3 miles with a couple of blisters and sore muscles.

You can see more pictures over at my Laura Treks blog.  Thanks to all my friends who helped me reach my goal so that I could participate in the walk!  It was an emotionally, fun-filled weekend!

Choo Choo!

Ted and I were conductors today in the Love Train taking Luke on the first leg of his journey to his new home in Montana!  Here is Luke with his loving foster mom who was sad to see him leave.

He had a special place in the backseat, and I sat next to him while Ted drove.  He was the best cat ever - we didn't hear one peep from him, and he didn't seem at all stressed to ride in the car.

We drove him to Wickenburg, Arizona, and this is the gal who took him all the way to Las Vegas to meet up with his next conductors!

They just happened to have a September festival in Wickenburg, so we checked out the town while we were there.  We enjoyed some good eats in this quaint Arizona town, and we were especially glad to be able to help Luke on his journey to his new forever home!
