My Dad died four years ago tonight. Mom, Ted, and I were with him. He was the first person I had seen die. It was peaceful and strange at the same time. He was 85 years old, and he acted about 20 years younger.
I think he was in his 20's in this photo.
He adored the women in his life . . . . . especially my Mom. Every woman should be treated as good as he treated my Mom!
I miss them both terribly, and I know I always will . . . . .
Luckily, the roads are okay. Kids got a break from school yesterday, but went back today. I had to laugh at all the kids playing outside in the snow yesterday afternoon. Two kids were carrying around a rack from the bottom of a dishwasher. I have no idea what that was about!
We had a wonderful Christmas in Arizona. There is nothing nicer than seeing the sun shining and not having to pile on twenty layers of clothing to go outside.
I also loved seeing all the blooming bushes in December!
We spent our time visiting friends . . . . . .
Eating delicious food . . . . . .
Enjoying the beautiful sunsets . . . . . . .
And knowing we made the right decision on where we will eventually semi-retire! There are some great hiking trails not far from our new home. Ted ventured out on a 9 mile hike one day, and we both went for a 4 mile hike - I'll share those pictures later in the week.
Wishing my blogger friends a happy, healthy, fun-filled 2011!!
