It's Gonna Be Ginormous!

The signs are made, the stuff is priced, the ads are on-line, and now hopefully . . . . .

Have it and they will come!

Saturday's weather looks to be wonderful - 82 degrees, no rain in sight. The driveway and garage will be full of good stuff, priced to sell! If you're in the Louisville area, please stop by and get in on some good deals.

I haven't even shown you the stuff downstairs, and in the garage! We've got everything from linens to yard and garden items, and of course, some U of L memorabilia, and even a few U of K items, bicycles and totebags For the Cure, antique tools (cleaned up and looking spiffy), Fenton glassware, and even a stray cat that needs a home! I'm already tired thinking about moving this stuff outside Saturday morning!

Not So Itsy!

It takes a lot of work for Mr. Spider to build his web. He has it connected way over into the flowerbed on a bush. I can't bring myself to knock it down, so hopefully he will hang around until Halloween!

Click on the picture if you dare to see him up close!

My Blogging Suffers!

My poor blog hasn't been getting much attention lately. I've been busy getting ready for a ginormous yard sale on September 4th. I'm selling everything but the kitchen sink!

We decided we don't use our picnic table anymore because we have another table on the upper deck. So, Ted powerwashed the picnic table, and I spent three hours staining this puppy yesterday. Somebody is gonna get a nice looking table for cheap!

I've got more stuff than I thought I had - wow, it doesn't take long to accumulate junk! Some of it is from my parents' house that I had stored in my basement. Everything is priced to sell, so if you're in the Louisville area, email me for my address - I'd love to sell you this awesome looking picnic table!

The State's Best!

Enjoy some of the winning entries in the stroll around the Kentucky State Fair! The nicest part about our fair is that most of the exhibits and even the animals are located inside!

Oh, we had fun coming up with possible captions for the picture above! Only in Kentucky can you walk through the middle of a giant colon!

Weepy Weekend

Have you ever been surprised to find a picture on your computer that you completely forgot about? The one below of my Mom and me was taken from one of those cheapy computer cameras.

Today marks the 3rd anniversary of my Mom's death. It was an emotional weekend for several reasons. We put flowers on her grave, and that always makes me cry. I miss her and Dad so much.

And we found a home for our front porch stray . . . . Ted had named her Savannah. I've never given a cat away before, and it was really difficult for me. I had become very attached to this sweet girl. The situation was not exactly what I wanted for her because the family has three dogs, a cat, and the cat is allowed inside and out. I told them if she didn't get along with the rest of the animals, I wanted her back. I shed quite a few tears for her when they left. Later that evening, Ted called to see how she was doing, and we found out she was hiding in a closet. I hope and pray it doesn't take her long to adjust to her new home.

This morning Gleek had to go back to the vet because of his crystal problem. I thought we had that nasty problem beat, but he couldn't pee this morning at all. For anybody who reads this blog that owns a cat - if you're not familiar with crystals, it can be a very dangerous situation, especially for boy kitties. If your cat can't urinate and keeps going in and out of the litterbox, get them to the vet ASAP. They can die within 48 hours if they are totally blocked.

What a way to start the week!

Not So Speechless Sunday!

Have you ever taken some really great pictures of a bumble bee inside a hosta flower, and then when you put the camera chip in the little transfer thingy and look for the pictures they aren't there because you then realize the chip is full and none of the pictures took and now the bee is long gone?

Well, it happened to me.

Pretend you are looking at a bee sucking the life out of a hosta flower. And you are speechless!

We're All Together Again!

It's been awhile since all ten Red Hots were at one of our get togethers. Can you pick out which foot didn't make it to last month's dinner? She had a not-so-nice encounter with a piece of granite and is lucky her this little piggie went to market is still around!

It appears that one Red Hot needs to get in the sun, and another one needs to go sandal shopping. Gotta love that sandal with the turquoise bead!

We ate at a Chinese restaurant, not a tomato factory, but I brought tomatoes from our garden for everyone.

As you can tell, some of our Red Hots have been friends so long they wear matching shirts without even calling each other first!

P. S. No zebras were harmed in making the two shirts!

Bucks & Racks!

While making these pink ribbon cookies today to take to Red Hots, I saw two daddy deer in the backyard!

I know we've never seen two together - click on the picture to see it full sized and check out their racks!

Speaking of racks - I'm selling these cookies to the Red Hots tonight with the proceeds going toward my 3 Day for the Cure trek in November! I still have a few bucks to collect toward my goal!

It's That Time Again!

I'm on a road trip today! Not a vacation, but just as fun - it's the World's Longest Yard Sale!

It runs 675 miles from Michigan to Alabama! Think of all the good junk! I can't wait.

Happy Birthday!

Today is the birthday of my friend, Cecilia. She is like the sister I never had, and we can go months without talking and then pick things up right where we left off the last time.

Cecilia is from Ted's hometown - they went to high school together. She is a great Mom to two lovely girls . . . . . . is very creative . . . . . . and knows how to throw a good theme party. I'm all about theme parties, and today's theme party is . . . . . .

Have a fabulous birthday, sister!
