One of my friends teaches at an elementary school. Each year they have a fundraiser with silent auction items, a live auction, and food tasting from different local restaurants.
Tonight was the event, and this was our second year to attend. The evening's theme was a tribute to the 70's. Many of the teachers and their spouses dressed in 70's attire - or what they thought to be 70's attire! They had a DJ playing great music - of course, we thought it was great because we grew up in the 70's!
It was fitting that our silent auction bid number was the year I graduated from college - '79! The crowd wasn't as big as last year for some reason, and therefore, we were winning bidders on a couple of items. I was the only bidder on an hour massage and facial. I can't wait to indulge!
We left before the live auction because Ted wanted to get home and watch the U of L basketball game. The auctioneer is one of our local television weather guys. As we were standing in the hallway talking to my friend, he was arriving. I noticed he had a dryer sheet coming out from the bottom of his pants.
It was one of those moments where you have to decide whether you should tell him or not because you know he is going to be embarrassed. So, I did the right thing and told him. He said it had been that kind of day!
I'll be spending the rest of the evening changing all the clocks! Hopefully that means spring is right around the corner. It was in the 70's today - how appropriate!
