My Ice Storm Survival Kit

Come and listen to a story about a man named Ted
A college professor trying to keep his family fed

And then one day a bad ice storm came to town
And knocked all the power lines right to the ground

Cold, that is, ice . . . snow . . . freezin' rain

Well, the first thing you know, the house is getting cold.
Then Laura said to Ted, Oh, where we gonna go?

They said it could be days before all the power is back.
So, he started splittin' wood, and building up a stack!

And so it continues, the story is told
They have hot water, but temps are dropping low

Fuel the generator every other hour
So the refrigerator can have power!

As luck would have it, the generator blows
What would they do now? . . . . only heaven knows!

A hotel is calling the guy next door,
He won't need his generator any more!

Four and a half days seem like twenty.
Everyone is stir crazy, cats are going nutty!

We survived the ice storm of 2009,
Gotta love that wonderful husband of mine!
